Jim Wharton joined the NYFC team more than 30 years ago. Throughout his career, he has learned every aspect of the catering and event production industry. While Jim professes there are always new things to learn, the tried and true elements – excellent planning and great food – never change. Jim takes pride in the quality and production of every NYFC event. He oversees the multiple departments under the NYFC umbrella including Drop Off Catering, Off Premise Events, and the exclusive venues – La Venta Inn and Verandas Beach House. Jim’s goal each day is to ensure the NYFC team produces the very best food and events so that the customers are happy. Jim shares, “I am grateful to the South Bay, Orange County and Los Angeles communities who support our local business and continue to help us grow and become better each day.”

Lorrie Mottes brings her experience as a business development professional in hotel and retail to the NYFC team. She has a passion for promoting positive community awareness and thrives on collaborating with local businesses. Lorrie engages in multiple, local Chamber of Commerce of Commerce events and enjoys personally visiting and meeting with clients. She is a ‘people person’ and likes to add her creative style to help clients develop events and menus that suit each one’s individual style and needs. Lorrie looks forward to connecting with you to help with your social or business event and catering needs.

Seasoned hospitality professional, Meredith Myska, adds her talents in catering sales and customer service to New York Food Company. She loves helping create special events and memories for clients — it’s a natural fit for her charming personality and infectious energy. She is adept at orchestrating the most complex events and staffing them with the best of the best in the service industry. Meredith says, “I am honored to be part of the NYFC team.”

Event planning and design is a natural part of Brenda’s DNA. Her calm demeanor, excellent people skills, attention to detail and unique creative style are the perfect combination for a professional event planner. Brenda has been an essential member of the NYFC team for almost two decades and brings her vast knowledge of service, décor, and menu creation to the Venue Coordinator team. “Do what you love and love what you do, I am so fortunate to be able to say that’s what I get to do every day”, says Brenda with a smile.
