NYFC’s Best Wedding Trends for 2018 ~ Dramatic Statements of Texture and Color…and Oh, the After Party!

Laser Cut Linens

Natural and rustic has segued to a more clean and dramatic trend for wedding decor.  We are fond of the laser cut, modern lace, and textured  linen overlays that add subtle drama to the table decor.

Moody Hues

Deeper hues in bridesmaids dresses, floral designs, and decorative accents add dramatic flair.  Popular now are shades of wine, lilac, lavender and mauve.  This Verandas Beach House bride incorporated these hues into her bouquet and bridesmaids dresses.

Living Bars & Potted Plants

Embellished bars with a modern take on lattice use laser cut wood trellises with climbing vines and greenery. These beverage counters punctuate event decor in a naturally beautiful way.  Potted plants make a pretty aisle path and can be repurposed or gifted after your event.

Couples are are intermingling their wedding day starting with an outdoor ceremony in a gorgeous, natural setting then moving indoors for the festivities.  Private estates and modern lofts are taking the place of traditional ballrooms.

All About the After Party

When the formalities and treasured traditions end, the after party begins!  Shoes and ties come off, music rules and so do late night snacks to keep guests’ energy going strong.  The most popular late night food trends now are pancake bars, burger sliders, french fries with flavored salts, cookies and milk, create your own ice cream sundae, and assorted retro-candy stations.
