Chad & Aubrey Williams
Chad and Aubrey Williams were married at Verandas on September 25, 2010. Details were the key to unlocking this enchanting affair. Everything from the ceremony programs and menu cards to the elegant overlays, striking floral design and formal Classic Bentley farewell was planned to perfection. A very hands-on Bride and her incredibly creative Mother designed each aspect of this spectacular Wedding. Aubrey was inspired by vintage-chic designs – Silver, mauve, pearls and lace detailing set the perfect palate for a late summer setting
Chad proposed to Aubrey on the Red Carpet of the hit romantic comedy, “When in Rome” after winning a contest at Robbins Brothers where he purchased the engagement ring. As a surprise during their cocktail hour, the movie played in the background.
Advice from the Mother of the Bride, Nancy O'Boyle
“Organization, Organization, Organization… and a realistic timeline. Stick to your timeline as much as possible and get the major components done as quickly as possible – you have so many other things to do before the wedding such as: The honeymoon planning, Search for a new home, Furnishing, etc.”
“Have an idea what type of wedding before you start if possible as the possibilities are endless and can be overwhelming Have a place to keep ideas, photos, brochures from bridal shows in one place – organize by type of information – carry it with you where ever you go – it really helps each vendor understand your vision.”
“Assess your capabilities and DESIRE to do things yourself. If you don’t like doing crafts, sewing, floral arrangement it becomes a chore and not a labor of love – nothing worse. Don’t sell yourself short – Create what I call a model of what the end product should be way before you need it – and see if you can do it – however, long does it take and how much time will you need to complete all that you need. Don’t beat yourself up - If it doesn’t work – move on – either change/adapt, ask friends for help or buy what you were looking for or see if that item can be eliminated.”
“Take your camera everywhere – helps you remember when you are trying to decide on things later or compare OR create it yourself and It lets you create a picture journal for the bride after the wedding – I did one for Aubrey’s birthday – 11/21 – I still need to bind it and edit it a bit more but she loved it – let me know if you want parts of it – I did it by month.”
The details matter:“All the stationary at the reception was based upon the invitation – colors and font and embellishments - Gives that pulled together look - Bathrooms were not overlooked – live orchids, special hand soap and towels and baskets in the ladies rooms with essentials (combs, hair spray, cotton swabs, band aids, advil… - people used them!!)”
Wedding Highlight from the Coordinator
Just before the ceremony I went to check on Chad and he handed me an envelope. He asked me to give it to Aubrey and to have her read it before she walked down the aisle. When I handed the envelope over to the stunning bride, she reached in her bag and also handed me a card. I ran up to Chad and handed him the sealed envelope. Chad and Aubrey had each written each other a letter. It was just between the two of them, but whatever was written, had an amazing effect. Both the Bride and Groom were glowing after exchanging silent words and both will have those letters to remind them of that moment in time forever.
