JIM WHARTON

Managing Partner

Jim Wharton joined the NYFC team more than 30 years ago.  Throughout his career, he has learned every aspect of the catering and event production industry.  While Jim professes there are always new things to learn, the tried and true elements – excellent planning and great food – never change.  Jim takes pride in the quality and production of every NYFC event.  He oversees the multiple departments under the NYFC umbrella including Drop Off Catering, Off Premise Events (Celebrations by NYFC), the exclusive venues – La Venta Inn and Verandas Beach House, and Private Jet Catering (Chefs with Altitude).  Jim’s goal each day is to ensure the NYFC team produces the very best food and events so that the customers are happy.  Jim shares, “I am grateful to the South Bay, Orange County and Los Angeles communities who support our local business and continue to help us grow and become better each day.”

ALFONSO ALVARADO

Chef de Cuisine

Chef Alvarado is passionate about creating great food.  His happy place is in the kitchen. He also enjoys being involved onsite at NYFC events - managing his culinary team or preparing custom order for guests at one of NYFC's interactive food stations. His charming personality and composed, calm demeanor makes guests feel welcome and appreciated.

RICK MEDITZ

Kitchen & Production Manager

Chef Meditz has been with NYFC since 1989. As kitchen & production manager for the Chefs With Altitude (CWA) division, he oversees the operations, scheduling and staffing for a 24 hour operation. With Chef Meditz in charge, you can feel confident that everything about your CWA event will be handled with care.

BRETT VIHNANEK

Customer Service Manager

As Customer Service Manager of NYFC’s corporate and social catering, Brett is on the phone every day with clients, helping them make the right choices for in-office and at home dining and entertaining needs. Since 2009, Brett has been the point person NYFC customers talk to the most. Brett shares this personal trivia with us that he has almost three decades of experience in customer service for the retail and hospitality industry. He also boasts that he makes a mean brisket. Next time you talk to him, ask him his secret!

STEVEN HOANG

Customer Service

Steven’s easy going personality coupled with his ability to think fast and expedite orders make him a valuable asset to our Customer Service team.  Steven enjoys helping our clients make the best menu choices for every event’s style and budget.  “The best part of my day is interacting with our clients -- they’re great to talk to and they often make me laugh!” says Steven.  Special requests?  No problem. He is happy to help and you can rest assured that your orders and deliveries will get his undivided attention.

ANDREA SULLIVAN

Director CWA

Andrea has always had an affinity for entertaining and event planning. Before joining CWA, Andrea managed a catering service whose clients included celebrities, their fan clubs, and several prominent Hollywood night clubs. Now with CWA, Andrea is able to merge her event planning skills with her passion for offering clients a level of service that she would expect for herself. Andrea understands the importance of being detail oriented and thorough, and more importantly she recognizes that the best service is given with a smile!

JEANNIE NERO-TUDDA

Event Designer

Now in charge of NYFC off-premise division, Jeannie has been with the company since 1992 working in many capacities and has an impressive long-standing client base. Jeannie believes forward thinking plays a big part in executing successful events; anticipating client needs and being prepared keeps her team one step ahead. Whether Jeannie is consulting on a large-scale corporate event or designer wedding her attention to detail and hands on approach remain the same. Jeannie is convinced a successful event designer is involved with their clients from the initial conception to the much-anticipated day of. The ultimate compliment of course is a past client requesting a repeat performance.

LINDA KAY

Event Designer

Linda shares her energetic and out-going personality and extensive knowledge of off-premise event design with her ever-growing list of high-profile clients. As one of our top event stylists, Linda produces a wide variety of unique and flawless events that provides her an outlet to express her organizational skills and creativity in myriad ways.

PEARL HO

Event Designer

Pearl has always known that she was destined to be an event designer – she has been planning events since middle school! After her professional experience managing large convention events, she received her accreditation as an International Events & Wedding Professional. Her favorite part of the planning process is getting to personally know each client. Pearl never tires of being a vital part of her clients' special events, whether it's watching couples exchange vows, hearing 'Happy Birthday' being sung, or listening to a beautiful memory at a Celebration of Life. “I love that I am able to help create beautiful memories for any of life's important events.”

MICHAEL HALISH

Director of Sales & Venue Operations

Since 1993, Mike has become one of the driving forces that allow us to create so many successful events. As Director Venue Operations for NYFC's incredible event venues, La Venta Inn in Palos Verdes Estates and  and Verandas Beach House, Manhattan Beach, he ensures everything is picture perfect for each event. His favorite part of the job is meeting clients and experiencing the cultural diversity that makes each special event unique. Mike is a detail-oriented person, which has a calming influence on those around him and allows his clients sit back and truly enjoy their events.

CHARLA MANDZAK

Venue Coordinator

Charla’s favorite part of being a Venue Coordinator at NYFC’s ocean view estate is showing La Venta Inn to couples for the first time. The venue, with, as she likes to say, “all its nooks and crannies”, never fails to charm visitors and like it did the first time she toured it - they fall in love with La Venta Inn.  Charla says, “I never get tired of seeing a wedding procession in the garden or the look on the groom’s face when he first sees his bride.”

ANGELA BRYANT

Venue Coordinator

‘Angie’ has worked with NYFC since 2008. Some people whistle while they work, Angie just smiles! Her positive spirit and teamwork make her a favorite with Verandas Beach House clients. Angie makes a host’s visions for a dream wedding or flawless event come to life. She ensures every detail is taken care of so every event is exceptionally perfect!

SERGIO CEBALLOS

Venue Coordinator

Sergio joined the NYFC team in 2014. During his tenure he earned his degree from Cal State Long Beach, 2016.  He loves coordinating events and especially weddings.  Sergio says, "I love this industry.  Being a part of our clients' most memorable life events is my favorite part of the job."  He also enjoys collaborating with all of NYFC's Creative Partners including wedding planners, photographers, florists, stylists, and entertainers.  Sergio has an intuitive creative sense that he adds to every event.  His clients enjoy his capable, cool, calm and collected style.

LESLIE GARDNER

Venue Coordinator

Leslie’s people skills and keen eye for details make her a natural at producing flawless weddings and events. In her role as NYFC venue coordinator, Leslie has created numerous beautiful events and weddings, always with the goal of the ultimate thank you – a smile from her clients.

BRENDA PEREZ

Venue Coordinator & Event Designer

Event planning and design is a natural part of Brenda’s DNA.  Her calm demeanor, excellent people skills, attention to detail and unique creative style are the perfect combination for a professional event planner.  Brenda has been an essential member of the NYFC team for almost two decades and brings her vast knowledge of service, décor, and menu creation to the Venue Coordinator team.  “Do what you love and love what you do, I am so fortunate to be able to say that’s what I get to do every day”, says Brenda with a smile.
